Lecturer in Physiotherapy
· Two part time (0.4) positions available – one fixed term until end of 2012, one continuing
· Join the Rural Health School at a time of rapid growth as new buildings near completion
· $76,382.00 to $90,700.00 PA pro rata (Plus 9% superannuation)
The LRHS delivers the four year Bachelor of Health Science/ Master of Physiotherapy Practice combined degree. Rural and regional students complete a foundation first year at a home campus of Bendigo, Albury-Wondonga, Shepparton or Mildura, then complete 2nd and parts the remaining years in Bendigo but may also complete clinical placements throughout Victoria. Graduate entry students join the program in the third year. .
To support the expansion of the LRHS, two new buildings will be ready for teaching in 2013. One of these buildings is collocated with Monash Rural Health School, Bendigo Hospital and the Bendigo Primary Care Clinic, which together form the Bendigo Health Education Precinct. Combined, the new buildings will provide state-of-the-art teaching facilities, including high fidelity simulation. As with other areas within the LRHS, the postgraduate program is expanding.
The position
The responsibilities of these positions are teaching into the Bachelor of Health Sciences and Master of Physiotherapy Practice at the Bendigo campus, including the provision of pastoral care to students, professional mentoring, delivery of subject material and facilitating enquiry based learning, and liaison with discipline colleagues based at the Melbourne campus.
The candidate
To succeed, you will possess a minimum of 2 years of physiotherapy clinical experience coupled with current registration with the Physiotherapists Registration Board of Victoria. You will hold a Bachelors Degree in Physiotherapy, teaching experience and also have an understanding of contemporary issues in physiotherapy education, research and clinical practice.
Progress toward or completion of a relevant higher degree, clinical and/or teaching expertise in neurology, as well as experience working in multidisciplinary or inter-professional teams will be deemed highly desirable.
